> 27 jun 2006 / THE LAKE TERRACE APARTMENTS (CONTINUED) - i was approached a few days back by a concerned lake terrace resident who vehemently opposes the plan to illegally pave the duck pond at the facilities, and she gave me a copy of a notice from the lake terrace apartments regarding the situation at hand, and a computer floppy disc which included a photo of a heron perched in the trees above lake terrace (see photo above) - and we had a long conversation regarding our neighborhoods' thriving ecosystem...i made the point that simply removing the water source at lake terrace will not make the ducks go away, as they have an imprint on this neighborhood, and they will return every spring whether or not they leave after mating season and/or whether or not anyone feeds them...

in other words; whether or not the lake terrace pond is natural has absolutely no bearing upon the fact that an ecosystem has been artificially created thereof, and this ecosystem now needs protection (and especially since the 1333 lawrence expressway pond was illegally paved a few years back)...we have many wild species living here in this neighborhood; including ducks - hawks - seagulls - herons - songbirds and hummingbirds etc - and these animals need protection whether their habitat is artificial or natural...

another neighbor made a good point; pets are a lifetime commitment - and whether these 'pets' are endangered wildlife living in a wildlife preserve munching on native fauna, or common house cats - there are laws on the books that protect these animals from harm, whether they be wild or domestic...

the lady who gave me the heron photo said she can secure a good environmental lawyer from san francisco who knows all the ins and outs about environmental law, and she made a good point that it is not illegal for anyone to champion (and/or support) the wildlife in this neighborhood (just because some rich lawyer who owns the lake terrace apartments appears to be in cahoots with santa clara city hall and wants to destroy our neighborhoods' thriving ecosystem) - it is in fact my right as a civilized human being to stand up for these ducks and see to it that they (as well as i) are treated humanely...

> if worse comes to worse and the pond is paved; neighbors can help out next spring by providing water for the ducks in the form of kiddie pools and artificial ponds in their front and/or back yards - the ducks will naturally find the water if you put it in a place where there are no predators around like cats or dogs - just drain the nutrient rich water/fertilizer every now and again into your plants and watch them turn bright green...

> 4 jul 2006 - the very first time midget officer lopez appeared at my door with two other santa clara polica officers - just after i called the santa clara illegal dumping hotline to report mister-o's chlorine rampages, mind you - he had a bad attitude...when i told them about mister-o's threats of violence towards me, he said; "what? are you afraid of him?" - well, the answer is NO! officer lopez - but you know; IT'S NOT MY JOB TO DEAL WITH CRAZY MANIACS!...even the dike lady officer on the scene gave lopez a weird sideways look after THAT innappropriate comment...so from the very beginning, officer lopez had a bad attitude and failed to protect and serve me, and while i do not want to fall into the hands of weishaupt's divisive master plan, i feel that officer lopez is essentially a short, young racist latino cop who didn't like me because; - a) i towered over him at my front door and made him feel short; - b) i am older than him and let's face it; i have no respect for his conservative young bush administration-influenced anti-environmental/anti-civil liberties nazi cop agenda - and finally; c) i am caucasian - (wait a minute! stop right there!...i basically grew up hanging around with mexicans, so therefore i am a mexican of sorts, so don't even try to call me a racist! - i know when i'm getting fed a bad bowl of fried menudo, people!) and although officer lopez came around and apologized for his actions right before letting me go free after realizing how nice of a guy i really am, i really want to forgive him for what he did - but i find it rather difficult after being bloodied up, falsely arrested and imprisoned after calling the santa clara police department's internal affairs hotline several times, telling them repeatedly that I DID NOT wish to sue them before all of this occurred, i just wanted them to get their shit together (even though i had a solid case even then - you know; i have a sneaking suspicion my final threats of a lawsuit on june 10th 2006 caused this lame attempt by the city of santa clara to 'criminalize' me - see: THE BACK DOOR web page > 10 jun 2006 / ILLUMINATI UPDATE) - officer lopez made a final comment before i left the holding cell, saying something like; "oh, and i'll try to do something about that speeding problem in your neighborhood" - yeh right!...do you know how many times i have been told that same thing by the police? - basically, i haven't seen hide nor hair of any santa clara police since then - and just as well because if they are not going to protect and serve this neighborhood, then they can just as well stay out!...will officer lopez's career be forever ruined by this controversy and his seemingly racially discriminatory actions? - we'll have to wait and see - anyway; at this juncture i feel if i do not file a civil rights discrimination lawsuit, i will be seen as a pushover who is just opening himself to more political retaliation down the line - therefore i must go through with this and i have a year to do it...and I DO NOT CARE how many crooked judges refuse this case; i will continue to appeal until the case is tried - i see SUPERBIRDLAND! as an undercover private investigation of sorts, unveiling the truth about what goes on in this neighborhood, AND YOU'RE ALL BUSTED!...

> 14 jun 2006 / NEW SPORTS COMPLEX MAY BE POSSIBILITY FOR PETERSON FIELD - While the final use of parts of the Peterson Middle School field is still unknown, what some view as the worst-case scenario--private home development--seems to be only a distant possibility, thanks to resident discussions with the school board and city council. - And much like the May 11 Santa Clara Unified School District Board meeting, the council's unanimous decision to indirectly support the preservation of the land met with applause from the gathered residents. - The city of Sunnyvale has already said it won't financially support efforts to preserve parts of the Peterson Middle School field as open space for residents' use, but it will provide information or possible space to meet for residents working on the issue. - On May 11, the district board chose to look at turning the land--up to 13 acres--into either a sports complex for local organizations or a working educational farm to teach students about farming and land use, which would also provide vegetables for cafeteria use or fundraising...

> 14 jun 2006 - SCUSD COVER-UP - last year at this time there was a burgeoning ground squirrel population in the peterson field just behind the peterson middle school bleachers, but after telling roger barnes of the SCUSD about the wildlife in the field at a public hearing, someone ordered the squirrels to be poisoned and no one has ever been brought to justice for it (15-30 protected animals were illegally poisoned)...the SCUSD failed do a complete environmental impact report (EIR) and instead tried to cover-up the presence of protected wildlife by destroying the evidence of it, and the sunnyvale animal control failed to press charges against the SCUSD etc - this heinous crime will not be forgotten any time soon, and here is the photographic evidence; 1) EXHIBIT A - 2) EXHIBIT B - 3) EXHIBIT C - when i went to peterson high school they had a proud tradition of environmental protection, and it absolutely sickens me to see the state the SCUSD is in at the present time when it comes to this same issue - ground squirrels are almost cuter than bunny rabbits and anyone who harms them is not only a criminal, BUT ALSO A STINKING PIECE OF SHIT! - related stories: (1) (2) (3) > 17 jun 2006 / BURROWING OWLS - interesting fact: i talked to the long-time maintenance man of the cabana club on friday morning and he said that back in the 1970s there were somewhere between 15-20 burrowing owls who lived just behind the peterson field bleachers...

> 16 aug 2006 / PLEASE SLOW DOWN! - a car came speeding towards benton and lawrence expressway from the raynor park area last night doing about 80 mph at around 11:00 pm last night, and a very large red 4x4 truck repeatedly sped up and down the street between benton and the raynor park area acting a bit suspiciously at times, so i took a photo just in case...i don't want to freak everybody out, but there has been a few residential burglaries in the neighborhood as of late, so please try to keep an eye out for any funny business...also; i have been noticing people running the stop sign @ benton and dunford lately, so i am considering capturing some of this rampant lawbreaking on video and posting it on this web site in an attempt to bring attention to it - so PLEASE SLOW DOWN!...you have been warned!...

LRE NOTE: the people who hate speed humps and traffic circles are often the same people who speed, and they usually live in culdesacs or courts, or off the beaten path - AND THEY DON'T GIVE A CRAP!...they come RIPPING through the neighborhood unabated, and even on streets where it clearly states 25 MPH ENFORCED like on my street (see: A and B) - LET'S FACE IT PEOPLE; MORE PEOPLE DIE FROM VEHICULAR RELATED ACCIDENTS THAN FROM GUNFIRE, SO WHY ARE THESE CRIMINALS BEING ALLOWED TO RUN FREE?...how about one year of GPS monitoring for drivers with 3 speeding tickets in residential neighborhoods, or creating residential double-fine no speeding zones? - just a thought...

> 14 jun 2006 / RESISTING ARREST OR CITATION? ~ JOURNALIST KIDNAPPED BY SCPD! (updated 15 aug 2006) - after finishing my drum practice today (and just after finishing writing the damning segments seen above about the lake terrace apartments and negligence on the part of the city of santa clara) i went out to put some duck food right across the street where i have for a number of years - right under a duck crossing sign that both the cities sunnyvale and santa clara installed many years ago - and surprise!; up drives a car with two cops inside!; one was in semi-plainclothes, and one in uniform...they jumped out of the vehicle and immediately started to show me a piece of paper (a citation) stating that i am creating a nuisance at the lake terrace apartments by feeding ducks - the owner of the lake terrace wants to pave the pond, and i think these were essentially his thugs to push his selfish agenda through much like the police state which removed darryl hannah and other protestors from the urban gardens in los angeles yesterday...there were 700 arrest made in california that same day in a sweep, so the citation was just a bogus smokescreen; cops were on a rampage against the citizens of california that fine day, and i was one of their political targets...

the uniformed cop was from a previous encounter about a month or so ago (click here to see 10 may 2006 GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION - continued) and as he reminded me; i did yell a bit at the time, but i had just called the city of santa clara illegal dumping hotline about mister-o's chlorine dumping rampage on the tree across the street, and cops showed up at my door instead!?! - so yer damn right i was mad!?!...

and mister-o ended up attacking me, so at this point the police are essentially negligent for not even warning him about his illegal threats which he later followed up on (click here to see 24 may 2006 posting IN THE BEGINNING) - also; i called the santa clara police departments' internal affairs line weeks ago and i was told that i can leave duck food on private property and i figured it was a done deal; now they change the story and say that in santa clara no one can feed wild animals 50 feet from a residence based upon some other obscure ordinance no cops seemed to be aware of at the time...

the only ordinance the officer finally cited was 6.15.010 - and if you read the law it clearly pertains to: 1) the 'keeping' of certain animals and fowl, and - 2) the nearness of dwellings to the said animals 'kept' - it reads as follows; "KEEPING OF CERTAIN ANIMALS AND FOWL - GENERALLY; a) it shall be unlawfull to keep or maintain any equine animal, any bovine animal, any sheep, hog or goat, any live hare, chicken, duck, turkey, goose, pigeon or other fowl as provided in this chapter. - b) any person maintaining any such animal or fowl within the city shall keep the premises upon which such is kept fenced. or if such animal is staked, so as to keep the animal from leaving the premises upon which such is kept, and shall not permit such animal or fowl to run at large upon the street or upon the property of any other person" (ordinance 1205 1 ~ 1, 2-18-69 formerly ~ 3-18)

first off; 1) the said animals (ducks) originate from and/or are being officially 'maintained' by (and/or are being 'kept' by) the various apartment complexes in the surrounding area; and - 2) both the city of sunnyvale and santa clara installed the duck crossing signs many years ago which clearly permit such said animals and/or fowl to run at large upon the street (and inadvertently upon the property of any other person); - 3) the various apartment complexes in the area likely have no permit to 'keep' the said animals in question (and/or realistic ability to 'keep' these said animals in the fashion specified by the ordinance, as the said animals are clearly more wild and 'unkept' than domestic); and - 4) these same said animals (ducks) have been 'kept' unfenced at various apartment complexes in the area for many years, and subsequently conduct their reproductive activities in the surrounding neighborhood(s) every year between the new moon of january/february, and the summer solstice on june 21st (the ordinance responsible for this process is known as 'natural law'); and finally - 5) there is likely a conflict of laws and/or interests of sorts between santa clara and sunnyvale ordinances regarding this matter, as one side of my street is santa clara - and the other is sunnyvale...

in retrospect; since the said animals (ducks) are incapable of being 'kept' in the fashion stated in ordinance 6.15.010, then 6.15.010 clearly does not apply to this situation, as the animals in question are clearly not caged farm animals - ordinance 6.15.010 was drafted back in february of 1969 when the valley of heart's delight was being paved over to create the silicon valley (i moved here with my family in 1967), so if you cite the year in which 6.15.010 was created; the clear intent of this ordinance was directed at farms and/or caged animals - not wild ducks who roam free, just ask the owners of the corn palace about that one...essentially; this ordinance was a roundabout way of shutting down the santa clara valley's agricultural past for a 'better' future with polluted groundwater, suburban sprawl and traffic jams etc...

and it occurred to me; why can the owner of the lake terrace apartments do whatever he wants with HIS property, but other santa clara residents cannot do the same with their own?...do you need loads of money to really do what you want with your property?...why can he pave over the ducks' habitat, and we cannot take up the slack?...and if i am technically 'maintaining' wildlife by feeding ducks then how about all the people who 'maintain' doves and songbirds? - are they not 'maintaining' wildlife in santa clara?...from now on i am not feeding ducks - i am feeding doves and pigeons and songbirds like every other old lady in santa clara; and if ducks happen to eat some...

my friends' roomate mick said there is a federal law against feeding wildlife, a law that mainly applies to hunters; so you can shoot ducks but you can't feed them? is that it? - i have found at least 5-10 dead duck carcasses on the street right by duck crossing signs this year, so what is the message here? - you can run over ducks but you cannot feed them? - what about the car wash in campbell that had ducks purposefully run over and all those campbell police department detectives looking for the culprit? what about that, city of santa clara? do you give a crap about our ducks or not?...

and isn't it interesting that the santa clara cops threw me down in the street literally a few feet away from the spot in the crosswalk where i accused them of repeatedly failing to install a crosswalk sign, and only a few hours after i posted the segment!?! (see WHAT CROSSWALK SIGN? segment above) - i know that the santa clara police read my web site, and i made sure of it because i put some stickers on the poles around their city council building - and! an SC cop even told my dad a few weeks ago that they know about my web site)...

furthermore; getting back to the incident at hand; my house was wide open and they were about to throw me into a car and whisk me off into cop oblivion (government-sponsored police abduction), so i attempted to go to my house and lock it up, as it appeared like i was going for a little ride whether i wanted to or not (and/or whether i deserved it or not) and i wasn't sure if my dad was even home at the time, but they then grabbed my arm and said that i was originally going to just get warned and cited, but since i motioned to go to my house, i was then "resisting arrest" and subsequently now going to county jail!?!...

how can i be charged with resisting arrest if there was no warrant out for my arrest at the time, and i was only being served with a citation?...and if the SCUSD can poison protected ground squirrels out in the peterson field (see: white collar crime) with no arrests made, then how could i be arrested for feeding a protected species?...

all is can say is this; i just generally try to get away from short little mean-looking gung-ho robot NAZI GI-joe dudes with shaved heads who look like they just came out of the military with their hand on their gun just itching to shoot someone and receive a crooked cop vacation for it - am i wrong for feeling this?...and besides; i generally DO NOT trust ANY police department who refuses to arrest my MANY violent attackers and chooses to arrest me instead - sorry about that - it's called 'the villians protecting the villians'...

and the police did not coax me into violence by failing to arrest any of my various attackers, but i may have instead inadvertently coaxed them into violence...maybe that's why they didn't make any arrests, because cops are the most violent ones of all!...

i know crooked cop behavior when i experience it, and fortunately so did the lady who witnessed the entire incident - and when i yelled out to her "you witnessed this! - send me an email to email@likroper.com!" one of the cops immediately went over and tried to intimidate her - (click here and scroll down to the NEIGHBORHOOD COPWATCH section to read about the other violence that has incurred against LIK ROPER)...recently i heard from a 'friend in the know' about the santa clara police department, and they are supposedly hands-down one of THE MOST crooked departments around, and i'm beginning to believe it...

(interesting fact: one cop allegedly almost went into my garage as i was being hauled off, and if my dad hadn't come out, he may have just sauntered right inside like the supreme court wants him to - my dad asked the officer what he was doing, and the officer said something like "why? do you have something to hide?" - i say we have nothing to hide here but our privacy, mister bush)...

anyway, they roughed me up then sort of threw me down to the ground, which ripped up my feet and hands (see exhibit A & exhibit B) on the rough pavement which i had just sprayed down - and like i said a few paragraphs ago; luckily and quite coincidentally a neighborhood lady friend who has been very involved in the peterson field fiasco (and who was also instrumental in getting the 13-year sunnyvale traffic circle installed - see segment above) - just happened to be walking by and therefore witnessed the whole event...i somehow got the feeling that if she was not there as a witness, the plaincothes cop would have probably shot me dead like he could have if he so desired - or they would have just been more harsh in their treatment of me...i will admit; it is a bit unsettling to see that the local government can be as crooked as any organized crime syndicate...

they put the cuffs on me and they tightened like vices as i moved my hands, which caused intense pain...it seems some cops actually enjoyed treating me in a way i would not even treat a dog, and some of them seemed totally jaded and unconcerned - in fact; in their minds it looked like they felt i actually deserved to be tortured for feeding the ducks or something - truthfully; i tend to think that many cops are simply gay and into the bondage/handcuff thing or something (the bottom line: most cops are actually afraid of the real criminals out there - like gang members, so they go after the easy prey like brazen duck feeders instead - it's your tax dollars at work!)...

i was then placed in a squad car that drove up and whisked me off to the santa clara police compound...i got there about five minutes later and was put into a holding cell to wait for processing...

the officer who worked in the processing place was a pretty mellow dude and i talked to him a bit, mainly about what was going to happen next, but he didn't know at that time...another officer came out and took some pictures of my injuries, finger prints and a mug shot, and he was pretty cool too...

10-15 minutes seemed like about an hour, and eventually the original uniformed officer on the scene showed up to read me my miranda rights (aren't they supposed to do that first?) and to make a long story short; one of the arresting officers entered the cell and sat down then basically apologized for the incident and i was released and allowed to leave...i then went home and called the FBI citizen's complaint hotline for the millionth time and gave those worthless schmucks a piece of my mind...

in the end i am absolutely confident that i will be fully exonerated and this last surreal episode is just the final piece of the puzzle that i needed to complete my upcoming civil rights lawsuit against city of santa clara and sunnyvale, as this is nothing more than police harassment and indimidation, plain and simple...the only gratifying part of all of this is knowing that i am a powerful and influential enough activist for them to spend so much time politically retaliating against in such a discriminatory way...

all i can say is this; i would rather be DEAD than sit in jail for ONE MORE MINUTE for feeding ducks - a heartless world full of ruthless idiots is not the kind of world i want to live in (to be continued?)...
